Hogwarts Legacy ‘Summer Update’ now live on Xbox, here are the patch notes

The Hogwarts Legacy fans, today is your day! The official Summer 2024 update is now live on Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, introducing several new features including a photo mode along with many bug fixes.

As we mentioned recently, this update also brings the Haunted Shop mission to all versions of Hogwarts Legacy on Xbox – it was previously exclusive to PlayStation only. Some of the exclusive cosmetics are also brought.

Interesting, in a special story for Suicide Squad Today, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has mentioned that a “Director’s Cut” of Hogwarts Legacy is currently in the works, so we’ll be keeping an eye out for more details on that.

Here are the full patch notes for the Hogwarts Legacy Summer Update on Xbox Series X and S. The Xbox One patch notes vary slightly in terms of the specific bug fixes that have been implemented for last-gen versions.

Developer Notes

This Patch unlocks Haunted Shop Mission previously available only for Sony platforms on all supported platforms, as well as all previously exclusive items and cosmetics, including:

  • of Onyx Hyppogriff Mount.
  • of Felix Felicis medicine.
  • of Cosmetic set for shopkeeper.

It also includes new, never-before-seen cosmetic items AND a new broom:

  • of Lavender Borealis.
  • of Azkaban themed gear.
  • of Glasses with circular band.

or Photo mode has also been added to allow players to capture screenshots of their Hogwarts Legacy experience and all of their newly unlocked cosmetics. *Photo mode will become available after completing the mission to access the field guide.

In addition, this patch also provides players with a talent point reset function, to rebuild your ideal witch/wizard without having to start a new game. Numerous bugs have also been addressed (Details below).

Localization

  • Implemented some updated localized Voice Over recaps for Japanese and Spanish.
  • Fixed the Brazilian Portuguese translation of “Silver Rim Spectacles”.
  • Fixed a typo in the description of the French spelling “Wingardium Leviosa”.
  • Fixed some Voice Over interruptions throughout the game.

Audio

  • Fixed some Voice Over interruptions throughout the game.
  • Fixed case where SFX/Dialogue volume would become louder than music volume when using stereo devices and setting to 50%.

  • Fixed an instance that made the player unable to select field guide page options when entering the menu by holding down the basic spellcast button.
  • Fixed case where loading a manual Save or fast traveling to certain locations would cause alohamora requests to disappear from magical animal cages.
  • Fixed case where Dark Arts spells would become unequipable after equipping regular spells on 1st charge.
  • Fixed case where the mission icon for the last arc of the Broom race would stay on the screen after completion.

Game of the game

  • Removed butterflies that cheated players on previously opened treasure chests.
  • Fixed case where using Swift’s talent at the edge of the map would cause mission progress to be extended to the “Search for the Rune Symbol” step.

achievement

  • Fixed case where the Fountain Airfield guide page on Hogwarts grounds would not count towards map counters or the bell tower wing sector.

NPC

  • Fixed case where Lodgok would occasionally get stuck inside the Hogshead in Hogsmeade instead of traveling to the Witch’s Tomb, preventing player progress.

Avatar

  • Fixed case where it would not be possible for avatar to climb and reach a treasure chest in High Hold.
  • Fixed case where Legendary Masquerade Masks would stick to avatar’s face when equipped.
  • Fixed an instance where swimming in the treasure vault near Keenbridge would cause the avatar to fly through the air.
  • Fixed case where Professor Garlick and Professor Hecat could get stuck hovering in mid-air after leaving the hospital.
  • Fixed an instance where a loading screen would cause a cage door to close again without regenerating an alohamora lock on it in a bandit camp at the north end of the map.
  • Fixed example where loading a course and fast traveling to any location would cause allohomora locks to disappear from fixed cages.
  • Fixed case where bone clusters would lose collision and fall across the floor when interacting with it.

Battle

  • Fixed case where attacks from loyal assassin enemies would not damage the avatar.

LIGHTENING

  • Fixed case where dazzling VFX lighting would appear when exiting the hallway castle vault.
  • Fixed case where light changes would be visible when camera angle changes while talking to Professor Garlick in the greenhouse.

Accessibility

  • Fixed an instance where setting left-handed mode while in the vivarium caused the avatar to drink a potion or plant battle herbs while trying to access the animal menu.
